Figured this video would be appropriate for the day because I will be gone tomorrow. That's right first week on the "job" and I'm already taking a day off. I do however justify my absence by saying that I will be at Fake Patties in Manhattan, Kansas. If you do know what Fake Patties is get off your lazy ass and get to one of the biggest parties you can go to in Kansas. So get your green on, don't you dare show up sober (this may or may not condone drinking and driving) and have the time of your like that no one will ever remember. Oh and don't be one of those douchebags that starts a fight just because his alcohol tolerance is shorter than his dick. Will I guess that was my ramble for the day. Now press play on the Khalifa and enjoy the blog.
PLAYOFFS, DON'T BE TALKING ABOUT PLAYOFFS
No matter how you look at it the playoffs are just around the corner. For those already locked into the playoffs you are in the need of a congratulations. You also can slack off and use some of that time to stash players that help you in the playoff weeks. Below I will summarize the number of games that teams play during those weeks and how that effects you.
(Note: Teams play 4 games during a regular week)
(Note: I only list players that I believe should be on fantasy rosters)
March 26 - April 1st
1UP Teams
Indiana - Roy Hibbert(C) and Danny Granger(SF) owner rejoice you get an extra game with a decent and a good fantasy option for the first week push. Other Players Affected: David West
New Orleans -Well I'm going to throw in another Marco Belinelli(SG) promotion here. I know he had a sub-par game last night in some terms (still put up 11 pts) but I think he is allowed a night off with so many good nights behind him. Other Players Affected: Chris Kaman(If not traded to the Lakers, my fingers are crossed), Gustavo "Who Am I" Ayon(watch this guys stats he is getting in a rhythm), Jarret Jack, Trevor Ariza
1DOWN Teams
I'm going to list teams only. Don't get cute, don't get fancy and if in doubt always ride the horses that took you to the playoffs.
Dallas, Oklahoma City, Memphis, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Sacramento
April 2 - April 8
1UP Teams
Memphis: Marc Gasol(C) gets an extra game and this guy is as dependable as they come. Rudy Gay(SF) scores in bunches and gives his owners another night. Other Players Affected: Mike Conely(PG), Tony Allen(SG), O.J. Mayo(Extremely borderline fantasy player in standard leagues)
Sacramento: Tyreke Evans(SF) is hot right now and only has a few bad nights if you can get him from his owner I would try right now. I talked about Isaiah Thomas(PG) earlier this week so stop waiting get him. Marcus Thorton(SG) is a decent option in all formats and a definite plus with an extra game in the playoffs. Other Players Affected: DeMarcus Cousins
1DOWN Teams
Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Minnesota, New Orleans, New York, Orlando
April 9 - April 15
1UP
Boston: Rajon Rondo(PG) I know he has great games but he also has those games that he only is good for his assists. If you can trade him I'm ok with it. Ray Allen(SG) was born to shoot threes and one more game in the final week of playoffs is oh so much sweeter. Paul Pierce(SF) not only played at the great college known to exist but he puts up stud numbers. Kevin Garnett(PF) should be owned in every league because as of late he is putting up numbers like he used to.
Charlotte: God, do I even want to talk about this shit show. Nope. Not one bit. If you got to this week with Charlotte players I would like an invite to your league next year and lets put some money on this shit. Players Affected: Bismack Biyombo(C), Corey Maggette(SF),D.J. Augustin
Cleveland: Kyrie Irving(PG) and Antwan Jamison(PF) headline this group and I believe they both can provide a good stat line in the final week(Irving especially).
Memphis: I already talked about these guys above.
1Down
Atlanta(2 in a row), Chicago(2 in a row), New Jersey, Philadelphia(2 overall)
SQUIDS FANTASY PROMISE (1-2)
Trevor Ariza had a turnover and a shot at redemption that ruined my call last night as the Hornets lost. I can only hope that this losing trend does not continue but in my defense I have been picking upsets not easy games. Tonight we only have two games and they both seem like easy games to pick but I will go ahead and go with Dallas going to Phoenix and leaving with a win.
Tune in next week and not only will you get more tasty fantasy basketball morsels but I will be starting my personal rankings of MLB players to help you get ready for your draft. Also I will be posting an invite to my fantasy baseball league that is absolutely free to join. So what do you have to lose?
Deuces....
